Hello!  Welcome to my Bio.

I have been teaching Yoga since 1990 and originally trained with the Inner Yoga Trust.

My journey with Yoga began as a child with my mother, Maureen.  Out of this joyful exploration, (she made it fun) Yoga inspired me and played a central part in my personal growth and search for integration.  As a young adult I experienced high levels of anxiety, depression, and fragmentation.   I basically fell apart at the seams for quite a while and felt disembodied and ill at ease with myself. Yoga offered me a route back home to myself and as I healed, I developed a deep appreciation of the connection between the mind, emotions, breath, and the energetic and physical body.  I see my practice and teaching as a healing art, guiding myself and others back home to their innate ease and inner freedom.

During my 30 years of teaching, I have also practiced as a visual artist and as a therapeutic masseuse.  I draw on different disciplines but essentially my Yoga is inspired by Vanda Scaravelli. All my inspiring teachers including my mother, have studied with B.K.S. Iyengar in India.  However, all have moved away from his school of teaching to develop their own unique and intuitive approach with an emphasis on embodied experience.

More recently I have trained with Birthlight, specialising in Yoga for Menopause, and exploring somatic movement to nourish the whole person.  I am expanding my understanding of our energetic anatomy with Donna Eden and Prune Harris, respectively the founder and a faculty member of Energy Medicine.  This work has drawn me to deepen my meditation practice and I have since trained with Suryacitta Malcolm Smith, the founder of Mindfulness CIC.

I love wildlife and am a big fan of Rewilding as I sense how our personal ecology and sense of well-being is intrinsically linked to our natural environment.  We are part of the web of life, so all is interconnected, and much of our suffering arises from a pervasive sense of separation.  I now focus on teaching Yoga and Meditation, exploring how to maintain my inner balance and feel a deeper connection to life.  I  practice Nichiren Buddhism which fuels and inspires everything I do.   I am mother to my daughter, who still challenges me to apply my practice to everyday life.  I live with my husband and a very demanding cat who regularly visits my zoom classes, in Crouch End, North London, N8
